So far I haven't been able to get the JCal Client 1.6.x Beta to work on any Joomla! 1.5 site other than on Microsoft development platforms. Attempts to get it working on three different sites under Linux and Apache have resulted in total failures. The sites work great on Windows, but not Linux. I can install the JCal Client 1.6.x Beta on those sites, but it won't work there. Go figure.

So ... I tried to install the JcalPro 1.5.x Stable release on those same Apache sites. It wouldn't even install. I can't spend all my time puttering around with a calendar module that won't run on a production platform. I dropped back and went with a different component that installs and works fine. It doesn't look at flashy as JCal, but it works, and that is more important to me.

V-Man:

This is the final week of March.

Is there a chance that JCal 1.5.x with support for Joomla 1.5.x will be available soon?

If so... when?

Thanks,

cg

JCal 1.6.x is compatible with Joomla 1.5.x in legacy mode, as stated in the JED.

We are looking for 10 beta-testers for JCal 1.5.x MVC, the version that runs natively on Joomla 1.5.x (i.e. legacy mode not required).

To receive a beta package, please PM me, including a link to a web site where you are currently running JCal Pro (any version), and also include your personal e-mail address.

Beta testers must be able to report their level of success at installation and usage within 24 hrs of receipt of the packages. Post success and failures as new threads in this board (not as new post in this thread).

Yeah, I got neither versions to bite. I downloaded the Joomla Stable, and I put that up on a site as well as putting up a dozen dollars up to download the Jcal Pro twice for both 1.5.3 and 1.6 Beta. Neither works. I keep coming up with the same error.

Something inside the install.jcalpro.php in line 181 and 182.

It says it installed correctly but then when I go to the component edit settings so that I can start making my calendar, it has an error inside the administration folder inside the legacy folder for another php. That the function deldir php isn't working on line 517.

I have clients that would be expecting a working Jcal, that I'm sure would be willing to throw up some cash to buy this extension for their web 2.0 product we supply, but if it's not working on either platform, we might as well just create a wrapper with a Google Calendar inside of it.

When can we see a working Jcal Pro with a stable Joomla platform?

Hello,

I am wondering if at all possible ... if you know that it will be a while before the 1.5.x version of JCal Pro is officially released, would you please make some sort of announcement (either way) within the next couple of days letting people know, so that we are able to make the proper and honest decision as to whether or not to go with a different calendar product or with JCal 1.6 in legacy mode.  I have waited and not gone in a different direction because I really like the Jcal calendar and spent a lot of time getting familiar with the previous version.  But, my project (using the new version of Joomla), is already far behind because of waiting on the official release of Jcal 1.5.x.

Hopefully you all can make a statement on this in the immediate future and/or please recommend if I should strongly consider using JCal 1.6 in legacy mode?

Thank you!

I want to purchase the subscription but i am using joomla 1.5.3.

Anyword or is there any version here currently that will work with 1.5.3.. Do not want to end up like the post above where he bought a subscription and it did not work with J1.5.x

I used this calendar before and its the best and can not wait to see the native version. Is there a beta version of this released yet?
