Is there a way to change the order of categories? I don't see a way of doing this unless I'm missing something. It would be very useful to have a re-ordering function similar to other Joomla extensions.

No, not yet. But in the next release categories will be ordered alphabetically.

Custom category ordering will be added in a future release once 1.5.x becomes stable.

We decided to meet you half-way in v1.5.1.2 (to be released tonight) and add alphabetical categoru sorting throught the component. We may implement a real solution in the category in the future).
