No problem with 1.5.1.2 and Sporticus here. Seems to be working fine on IE and FF.

I don't know what to tell you..  it doesn't work on mine.

Still doesn't..

I did install a basic joomlart template and then it worked fine.

I also tried to install jevents and it crashed too in IE.

So now I'm completely frustrated and baffled.

We definitely know that the individual pieces of this puzzle work fine ... JCalPro with IE6 with Sporticus theme, etc. The problem is an incompatibility when the various pieces are put together. All it takes is for any two of these pieces to use the same global JavaScript variable or function, or try to override the same event function, etc. ... some days I'm actually surprised that most sites even work at all!

The good news is that every single bit of this is solvable, and I am anxious to make JCalPro compatible with everything that is out there. The bad news is it takes some very methodical testing to isolate the thousands of possibilities down to what we really should be focusing on.

For example, we know that JCalPro works with the Sporticus theme. If you could temporarily disable all the extra mambots, modules and JavaScript add-ons on your system, you should get a page that loads. Then, enable them one by one until it breaks, and the last thing you touched is where the problem is.

If I had that information, I could definitely solve this.

WE HAVE FOUND THE PROBLEM !!!

Conflict between the AllVideos plug-in and jcal !

Unpublishing the All Videos Plug-In fixed the problem in IE 6.0

Now..  this is a real problem for me, because the videos are a very important part of my website..  but at least now we now what the problem is.

Well....  more troubles.

I installed a different video streaming plugin..

the Alikmo verion..  http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,viewlink/link_id,1238/Itemid,35/

And when published to a module..  it also crashed when JCal is published.

Excellent! This is what we need ... if we know where to look, we can find the problem. Let me go find those plug-ins and install them here ... if I can reproduce it, I should be able to fix it.

Van..  the problem is definitly in the mini-cal module.

I un-installed the whole JCal component/module/bot setup.

Page loaded fine.

I installed the component only..   loads fine.

I added a link to the main menu..  loads fine.

I added YouVideo module..  loads fine.

I added the upcoming events module.. loads fine.

I added the mini-cal..  and it crashes.

Hmmm ... the Zip for this module seems to have disappeared from the AlikonWeb website. I was hoping to install to test compatibility issues, but can't seem to find an alternate download source. Any ideas?

Its interesting that it does it with either of the video modules..  and if I unpublish the video bots, then the minical works..

you can download the Alikmo bot here:

Thanks for the bot link! I couldn't find it anywhere else.

Unfortunately, I'm not getting any closer to the bug. I installed it, and have latest events, the minical, and a content item with YouTubeVideo content all co-existing on the same page and working fine with IE6.

I am playing around with it, trying to see if it the orderof the items. But I have gone through the code and see nothing the seems to be a conflict. We may actually have to throw in one more piece, like the sporticus theme, to get this to fail.

without doubt, the theme has something to do with it, because when I used the generic joomla theme (makeyourweb) it doesn't conflict at all.

I was hoping to test the sporticus theme myself. Apparently it was freely available a while back, but now requires a fee ... is that the right template?
