dear anything digital,

I am very disappointed that this components is not compatible with 1.5, I found this out after i paid to download it thinking the listing you have on the joomla extensions website would be correct when it say it is compatible with 1.5 http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,viewlink/link_id,1401/Itemid,35/.

just as a friendly suggestion is that you get this changes ASAP so you are not falsely advertising what you are selling and maybe some how make it more clear this is NOT compatible with 1.5

best regards

Anything Digital,
I agree with Zeak, I too got drawn in expecting this to work with Joomla 1.5 and was disappointed when it didn't work.
Aside, I am getting an fatal error every time I try to load this extension that reads - Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class mosinstaller in /mnt/w0611/d42/s23/b029e476/www/administrator/components/com_jcalpro/installer/installer.class.php on line 44
Can you advise me what to do.

After uploading and installing I get a fatal error - Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class mosinstaller in /my_data_base/www/administrator/components/com_jcalpro/installer/installer.class.php on line 44
I have since uninstalled and have installed 1.6 Beta and now I get a message that Module Install: Another module is already using directory: "/my_data_base/www/modules/mod_jcalpro_minical"
Any ideas on solving these problems?
I am also disappointed that your 1.5 does not work with Joomla 1.5 natively. I bought the download thinking that it would be native to find out that I need to use the legacy plugin. You should make this clear to your customers!!!!!! Huh

The legacy mode requirement was noted in the JCal features and in the installation instructions. I have now added this information to the downloads section and the Compatibilities and Dependencies table to make it more obvious, particularly at the point of download.

That said, this is beta software (i.e. use at your own risk). This has been posted very clearly at every point of download since the first day of release for JCal Client 1.6.x.

For those of you that are frustrated with the lack of native support for Joomla! 1.5, I suggest you post on forums.joomla.org and enquire as to the release date for a stable version of Joomla! 1.5. Frankly, the code is still under heavy development. It is time consuming and frustrating for developers to aim for such a 'fast moving target', and we won't be making any efforts on that front until a stable version is eminent.

The Joomla extensions site does not provide an option to indicate compatibility with legacy mode. I suggest you post in the extensions forum to request this feature.

Have you enabled the legacy mode plugin as described in the installation instructions?

If you tried to install 1.5.x and got the error, you need to manually remove the <joomla_root>/administrator/components/com_jcal and <joomla_root>/components/com_jcal folders first. Any 1.5.x modules probably installed correctly, but you need to remove them first before installing the 1.6.x series.
