My Events tab in CB profiles shows each members JCal events. I have the members profiles linked from the User menu so only registered users can see. Any registered user can see any members events listed in the profile MyEvents tab but "registered" users get a "You are not authorised to view this resource" message when they click on the event in the CB MyEvents tab even though they can view the event in the calendar directly without going through the CB tab. "Authors" and above  do not get this message - they are taken directly to the flat view of the event from the CB tab.

I've gone over my permissions in the back end and can't figure out what would cause this.

I do have submit events set to authors and above but it doesn't seem like that should affect this.
