Hello,
I am trying to install JCal on my Joomla Site. I am running Joomla 1.5 and have tried in legacy mode. When I install either Jcal 1.5 or 1.6 i get the following errors, which cause Jcal not to operate:

Warning: chmod() [function.chmod]: Operation not permitted in /usr/local/4admin/apache/vhosts/beadazzles.net/httpdocs/administrator/components/com_jcalpro/install.jcalpro.php on line 236

Warning: chmod() [function.chmod]: Operation not permitted in /usr/local/4admin/apache/vhosts/beadazzles.net/httpdocs/administrator/components/com_jcalpro/install.jcalpro.php on line 237
Installed Successfully

Please help.!

chmod errors are related to permissions on your hosting account.

Joomla.org should have something for this.

I understand it seems like a hosting problem, but This is the only program I receive this error trying to install so I do not see it being a Joomla problem.
The components folder is set to 777 permissions, so it should work.
Is there a way to manually modify the 2 files to make it work?

Thanks.

Have you set the chmod permissions in the Joomla global config screen?

I was unaware there is an option for that on the global config screen. Can you help me out with this?

Ok, I found in the code, what those 2 lines are trying to do. They are trying to chmod 2 folders, I did it manually and then tried to access the Jcal component in the admin window and received the following error:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class mosinstaller in /usr/local/4admin/apache/vhosts/beadazzles.net/httpdocs/administrator/components/com_jcalpro/installer/installer.class.php on line 44
