If I purchase 1.5 for my live site can I later install 1.6 and retain my current calendars. The install instr. do not make this clear. I fact the update instr. say create a NEW menu item. What about the 1.5 menu items?

If you already have a menu item, then you don't necessarily need to re-create one.

At the moment, we expect JCal 1.6 to maintain it's ability to automatically detect and use events in JCal 1.5 (events will not be backward-compatible though. 1.6 events cannot be reverted to a 1.5 install without manipulating the database manually.

I guess that's just a case of making sure the install detects and uses any existing DB tables and/or converts them as required. I am particularly interested in 1.6 because of it's ability to have separate calendars (e.g. public and registered (staff)) which don't combine on the screen.

Can 1.5 be configured with a parallel component installation just like modules can? That way I tought I could get two calendars running.

Anyway I have got 1.5 on our site now and am restyling the spartan theme. So far I am pleased and it validates transitional which at least shows sme adherence to standards. Our site has a text larger button and it holds well on that too.
