Same problem here, guests can view all events, but registered users can't
http://www.zorgbeheer.be/index.php?option=com_jcalpro&Itemid=58

Joomla 1.5 + JCal 1.6

Thanks for your answer(s)

I can´t reproduce the described behaviour. Do you have an account for a registered user?

Sorry, works perfect for me.

I suppose you meant your version works perfect. I hope you saw my problem.

I still get:
guests: perfect
registered: blank calendar
admin: perfect

Thank you for looking after this problem!

Yes that´s what i meant.

In the meantime i installed a fresh joomla 1.5 SVN and com_jcal_client_v1.6.176_beta. I added a new user to the registered group, made a menu entry for the calendar and added one event and everthing works fine for guests, registered user and admin.

So can you do the same as i am and see if you still got the problem?!

Okay,

I re-installed 1.6.176 (already had that one), but no succes.

Then i waded through the MySQL DB and noticed i had one single calendar name 'Main' (id = 1), but no events were linked tot it.
I updated the events-table and filled in the corresponding calender number (1) for all events.
Again, no succes, the calender remains blank for registered users.

I the noticed a new problem: clicking the category button (categorieën) in the navbar gives an error, when you are registered
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /web/www.zorgbeheer.be/components/com_jcalpro/themes/default/theme.php on line 1981
When you're not registered, you get a blank result (but no error) when clicking categories. All event-categories have permission "public frontend".

As a registered user i cannot select options from the category-drop-down-list when adding a record, the list is blank although there are 4 categories. So it is impossible to add a record. As Administrator i could select the categories and succesfully add records. Those newly made records can be seen by guests and administrators ... but still not by registered users.

Only "solution" is to set the category-permission to "registered" to make the events visible for registered users. But then guests cannot view them ... so it's no option.

I'm kinda stuck here.

With my fresh installation (described above) I can´t reproduce any of the problems you have. So lets do the basics. What is your environment looking like: operating system, php and mysql version. Have you changed the settings?

Maybe you have a temporary account so that I can look how you configured the system.

Thank you for trying to help me out!

work, work, work!
I removed the component
I deleted the jcal-tables in the db
Re-installed the component
I already get an error (clean install with default table-data) when selecting "category" as a registered user (error: look above .. line 1981)

I then loaded my data so, at least, guests can look at it.
Current problem 1: guests get blank calender when selecting "categorieën" (category) in the top nav bar, but NOT when they select a category at the bottom of the calendar
Current problem 2: registered users get a blank calendar, even the categories at the bottom of the calendar have disappeared. Plus they get an error message when they select "categorieën" (category) in the top nav bar (error: look above .. line 1981)

Haven't got a clue how to solve this, so here's the environment data:
