Hi,
I can't seem to get the xml-rpc remote site search working.  I've enabled it in the Search Advanced component settings and added my site like the example. (www.joomla.org:/xmlrpc/)  Also, I've enabled the xml-rpc advanced search plugin.  I also have the xml-rpc joomla plugin enabled on both the local site and the remote site.  when I do a search from the local site and check the box to also search the remote site I'm sent to the homepage of the local site.  If I turn off sh404sef for advancedsearch then I'm sent to the 404 page and the url is http://www.mysite.com/component.  Do I need to do anything else to the remote site?

Have u put the authentication keys from each host site into the config of the remote site?

(BTW, we are working on detailed docs, apologies for their absence).

I did copy the auth. key from the component settings from the host site and pasted it in the xml-rpc advanced search plugin settings of the remote site.  I played around a little more and now my url looks like this

www.mysite.com/xmlrpc/&searchphrase=any&searchword="searchphrase"

but this still returns a 404 page (with sh404sef skipped for this component)

The config file is locked on one of the sites. Please enable web services on both sites and respond here.

Please create a menu item for Search Adv on the remote site and post the URL to the site.

I just tried it out and it looks like it's working from the "remote site" to the host site...I'll see if it's working the other way around now...

One site did not have the web services installed. I got an error trying to enable it, but it looks like it worked.

I also disabled the JoomlaPack XMLRPC plugin. And then u created a menu item for adv search. You might test if the Joomlapack xmprpc plugin can be re-activated.

Also, remote search was not enabled on one of the sites.

To be honest, not sure which of the changes got it working Smiley
