I'm trying to clone a search mambot called Keyword Density Search (http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,viewlink/link_id,3210/Itemid,35/). But the clone is conflicting with the original when using Advanced Search.

For the cloned bot, I changed the queries a little, so the clone only searches the Meta keywords. Unfortunately, the two mambots seem to be conflicting. The search page (Advanced Search) doesn't load if I have them both published at the same time.

Original mambot: keyworddensity_content.searchbot
Cloned mambot: cloneddensity_content.searchbot

What I did was:

  • Copy installation-version of mambot to a new folder with a different name.
  • Edited xml-file and replaced all occurences of 'keyworddensity' with 'cloneddensity'.
  • Edited php-file and replaced all occurences of 'keyworddensity' with 'cloneddensity'.
  • Then install the cloned mambot the regular way.

Am I forgetting something? Hope someone can help.

You don't need to clone anything. All search mambots are available to Advanced search.

Sure I need to clone. I wanted to create a new mambot with a different search functionality. So I cloned and adapted the clone to my own needs.

Just found out what the problem was: there were some functions that needed a unique name. So I changed those too, now it's working. Yay!

I didn't realize that you needed a new mambot with different functionality.
