I would highly interested in this too!

To give you all a better idea of what exactly I'd need for, here's the "challange" I'm facing on my non-profit-blues-supporting-website (www.dirtroad-blues.com):

  • I have a menu called "Artists" with countries (i.e. USA, Switzerland) as submenus.
  • I broke the listings of artist in each country down to region by organizing them with section + categories
  • so the submenu "country" (i.e. USA) is linked as List - Content Section
  • now, once you click on a certain artist, you will find bio, sound samples, pics, etc.
    > here I also want to incl. the concert dates of this specific artist only by using the wonderful JCalPro Latest Events Mambot

    > the only way to do this (to my knowledge...) is to create a category for each artist >> this will simply just overlaod the full calender with categories.

So here's the "idea" of how to solve this situation:

  • create a category for each country
  • ceate a subcategory for each musician
  • the full calendar will have the concert organized by countries as categories
  • in the content for each artist I can have his concert listed using JCalPro Latest Events Mambot with the appropriate subcategory set to display (i.e. name of the artist)

I have also checked the "multiple calendar" add-on which is posted in this forum, but I don't think it would solve my problem (if I'm wrong about that, I'll be happy to hear how it could be used to address my issue)

If anybody has an idea of how this can be worked out, PLEEEEAAAASE post it...!  ;-)

Thanks & Greets

Thanks guys. I will move this to the Feature requests and keep in mind. However, we have to be very careful messing with categories, it is the main organizational unit in JCal.
