I work for a corporation that would not permit me to make a donation. But, I would certainly pay a premium for a finished product or pay for development of a custom product.

I'm not sure if that is a good or bad thing  Huh

Sorry bad english

Question:  did you have jcal installed before you updated it to this extenden version?

The reason I'm asking is because I had the same problem and in my case jcal was installed before I put this version on. (and yes, I did uninstall jcal first and then installed this one here)

I thought it might have something to do with the tables that have been created in the database so after uninstalling the whole thing again, I went into php-admin, located the jcal-tables and deleted them.
After that I reinstalled this multiple calender version again and...  ...the error messages were gone.

Hope it will work for you too...

mamboblues I had a similiar issue with the mod but it was easily corrected -- removed the installed version first and I found even with the the current DB files linked to the orginial install also created error.. All issues got resolved by simply uninstalling.

V-Man,

Curious with the new roll out will the category manager allow for different titles based on each calendar? This mod was perfect exactly what I needed == Everyone that’s for the awesome work! I need to create nine new calendars for our department and a total of 42 calendar’s for all the other department wikis each wiki has different categories.

We are still playing around with that, but the multicalendar option is set at the event level, not the category. I have never tried to create identical category names, so if you can do it now, you should be able to do it in the new version.

Of course, since the calendar is specified during event creation, one category can be re-used for multiple calendars.

I just checked out the michwine site with multiple calenders and thought it would make sense to write a post:

From my point of view it would be really really helpfull if the multiple calender would feature a posibility to change the calender/city from the calender itself. maybe by including an aditional button of selection menu in the calender navigation.

This would be much more userfriendly if you could change the calender without having to go back to the standard view mode that the website admin chose to use.

I am imagining something like joomfish is using to change the language. Or this forum to change the color when posing... This way it does not matter where on the page the user is at the moment of changing the calender/city and the view mode will stay the same.
example: The website has a standard view of the calender that is flat. The user does not like that and changes the view to month view. Then realizes that he/she is looking at the wrong city and changes the city by selecting the correct one from a scrolldown list. The calender changes the city without changing the view mode.

I hope this was understandable. Smiley And I hope you have thought about this before. If not, you might want to think about it now.

Thanks!

just thought of another problem with this:

the module latest events...

which events should be shown? If the posibility to choose the calender/city without going to the calender or without having to go back to calender standard view is included it would make most sense to have it totally separate from the calender, maybe as a special module or included in the latest events modul.

This way the user could select the city and will be able to see the latest events for the chosen city.

V-Man,

I have four calendars using the multi calendar enhancement. Currently you can create unlimited categories, which are than applied by default to all the calendars – I’m looking for a solution in which you can define which calendar a category name is applied too.

Basically looking to be able to control what category names are displayed on each calendar.

Some category examples:

1. Project calendar would have MiMO Project, Q18 Project and Fiber Project, etc.
2. Meeting calendar would have Sacramento Office, San Jose Office and Fairfield Office, etc.
3. Vacation calendar with no categories
4. Travel calendar would have Los Angeles, San Jose, China, India, etc.

Regards,
sorr

V-Man,

Nope this did not help...

I've created multiple calendars and they are all working great -- however I want to create specific categories for each calendar.  Example -- Meetings Calendar = Conference Rm A, Conference Rm B, Travel Calendar = Austin, Boston, China, etc... Currently when you create a category name it's applied to all calendars any plan to allow the user to assign to a specific calendar when working with multiple calendars?

We are still playing around with that, but the multicalendar option is set at the event level, not the category. I have never tried to create identical category names, so if you can do it now, you should be able to do it in the new version.

Of course, since the calendar is specified during event creation, one category can be re-used for multiple calendars.

V-Man,

I too am look for mutliple calendars on one site, but each has different categories. I believe your answer below says ths is not possible at the moment, correct?

If not, can you suggest a quick fix? should I create a calendar on another site, and link to it?

Thanks in advance,

Carole

I was wondering what the status on this part of the project is right now.

any possibilities for a php/sql "no-nothing" to install and use?

btw, I think the request of having categories applied to selected calenders only, is a very good idea. or maybe at least do not show categories that are empty for a certain calender (on the frontend). That way the user won't click into a disappointing empty category. Would that be easier?

I keep saying a few weeks, but this time i really mean it Smiley

BTW, there is no official upgrade path from slydes mod to the new version, so you may have to fiddle.

V-man,

Any word on the new release with the Multi-calendar function? It has been awhile and I am wondering what the time frame is.
