Also putting a vote for a registration feature. Need in for an MDIO site (www.rotaract.dk) for several clubs in Denmark. Each with a calender of their own using "Syldes" hack and possibility of registration to club meetings.

More info on Syldes project: http://dev.anything-digital.com/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=71&topic=62.0

Hi!

Any word on Event Registration?

I am desperately needing this feature. I have read the posts but couldn't find any firm information.

The details from jbrowdy sounded interesting but couldn't quite understand the instructions.

Any advice as to how to have a Calender where users can create an event in the front-end and other users can register their attendance, also from the front-end would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Colin

Like others, I am in need of event registration functionality, but found jbrowdy's excellent walkthrough enough to set up a simple example, as below.  Need to deploy Attend Events module, and link to a created session from the jcal event description field.
http://church.morningside-nyc.com/index.php?option=com_attend_events&task=view&id=1

It is unfortunately something which involves separately setting up an event from the back-end, but until an integrated solution is available, think it enough to tide me over.

Cheers, Terry.

Looks like this feature request is over a year old at this point (and the previous message dated November '07) so adding to this thread may be futile. However...

once again, any progress on Event Registration as a part of JCal Pro? I have been seeking a good event registration integration for Joomla! and have given up on CiviCRM (for now), tried to integrate Wild Apricot (embedding a widget but, alas, the return from PayPal is a problem) and now I'm trying DTRegister which coordinates with JEvents. But, sheesh... is JEvents UGLY?! I can modify the CSS but I have already purchased JCal Pro 1.5 and it is bee-u-ti-ful!

I'm going to try jBrowdy's technique but...
I thought I saw that Event Registration - JCal Event Server? - was definitely in the works and soon to be released. Did I dream that? If not, how soon is "soon"?

In advance, thanks for your reply - and, thanks for JCal Pro!

Hi all. I'm in such bad need of an event registration module for JCalPro that I am about to write one myself. I reeeeally don't want to do this, but I don't have a choice. If V-Man, you have something going on that would make my efforts redundant, please let me know.

If anyone else would like access to the module once it's complete (probably 4 weeks out -- WON'T include payment at first, but hopefully eventually with PayPal integration) please email me at amanda.steinberg at gmail.

Has anyone an update on this?

Amanda: Did you find a solution to this or did you write something yourself?

Thx!

OK, here are my specifications for the JCalPro 1.5 RSVP Component that I am developing. I've posted the full specs with an image of the backend here: http://www.joomlasimple.com/Extensions/Specs-for-JCal-Pro-RVSP-Component-including-PayPal.html

> Where in the backend RSVP for this event = yes (see By Event tab below), Register for [XYZ] (where XYZ is specified in By Events tab) is added to each listing details page.
> Click through to RSVP form as follows:

Name*                   [         ]  If logged in, pull name from Community Builder profile, but leave editable
Email Address*       [         ]  If logged in, pull name from Community Builder profile, but leave editable
Phone Number        [         ]  If logged in, pull name from Community Builder profile, but leave editable
Category + corresponding price of ticket [drop-down box]
# of Guests [+  ] (only positive # up to 100 allowed)

And then 2 buttons:
[CHECKOUT and PAY AT DOOR]

[CHECKOUT and PAY NOW] <-- only include this option IF under Global settings PayPal is enabled AND IF one Ticket Category with a value greater than $.01 has been added to this specific event.

BACKEND (click http://www.joomlasimple.com/Extensions/Specs-for-JCal-Pro-RVSP-Component-including-PayPal.html
 to see BACKEND config options)

Feel free to comment if you want to contribute specs or become a beta tester once it's ready.

Amanda you are awesome!

That looks like a perfect small weight plugin to get reservations for events.

Let me know how to sign up for beta testing Smiley  I, like everyone else who's posted here, could use this now! hehehe

...thanks for what you are doing....

peace,

tj

Jip - would also need EVENT REGISTRATION with resources (Event with 100 places and subscribers should see how many of them are still available).

 Smiley

Hope it will come soon as there is no modul or component so useful...
