Hi, I have the same error (the fatal error as listed above).

I installed the com_JCal-Pro-MVC_beta_1.5.3_build_259.

I run Joomla 1.5.3, stable, legacy mode and the component manager says it runs with Joomla 1.5 natively.

I disabled Legacy mode and it now says "Direct Access to this location is not allowed."

I went and opened all the permissions on the files and still get that same message.  None of the options in the menu let me in, they also give the same message.

I tried to re-enable my Legacy mode, and, well, it is disabled in my component manager now and I dont know how else to enable it, or even if I need to but I thought it was strange that it disabled it - if that means anything to this specific error.

Is it trying to delete something after installation? I can get into my database so if there is anything I can do on that end to help troubleshoot it, let me know.

FYI, I am leaving legacy off for now, I just looked and I think all my extensions are 1.5 compatible.

Thanks
Anna

PM me the url for your site, admin access to the backend, and FTP access to the site. I'll take a look.

I am having the same error appear after I install JCal.  I am looking for the file with the following name, but the only file i can find to download is "com_jcalpro_1_5_3_2.zip" in the downloads section.
The file name should be "com_JCal-Pro-MVC_beta_1.5.3_build_xxx.zip"
[/quote]

I am running Joomla! 1.5.3 Production/Stable in legacy mode.
Can someone possibly tell me what I'm doing wrong or where t find this MVC download?

Thanks!

I have installed com_JCal-PRO-MVC_beta_1.5.3_build_278 with legacy mode enabled and disabled, but to no use.  I am getting a fatal error and have not yet gotten it to open the component from the menu system at all.

I dont think there is anything solved about this thread.  Any ideas from anyone?

Here is the error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: getdate() in /home/thetorch/public_html/components/com_jcalpro/include/functions.inc.php on line 855

At the top of the site select "JCal Client/Jcal Pro" from the downloads menu.

Then select "JCal Pro for Joomla! 1.5    JCal Pro for Joomla! 1.5"

OR failing that click here

MRJIT, were you responding to my post? I have loaded the correct version for joomla 1.5.  Is no one else having this error any more?  I am using a Rockettheme Template.  Do you know if there are any issues from that?

Hi, same error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined method JFactory::getdate() in /home/karisimo/public_html/tennis/components/com_jcalpro/include/functions.inc.php on line 855

Joomla 1.5.3 with legacy on or off, using Rockettheme or with std Joomla template.
using build: com_JCal-PRO-MVC_beta_1.5.3_build_278

Any progress on solution?

Ok as far as I know this call is to a function in the latest Joomla Upgrade.

I upgraded to 1.5.4 today and it fixed this issue.

Many thanks to bobnbeck!!

I guess some rockettheme.com RocketLauncher installations dont have the newest version of joomla which seems to have solved for me the fatal error in this case.  Thanks again bobnbeck, who is a newbie like me.  Upgrade to 1.5.4!!

Yes, Joomla 1.5.4 is recommended for all testing.
