Which exact versions of jcal and the theme are you using.

Are you using joomla ftp layer?

yes - definitely the installer from within the component control panel.
Smiley

I can also add that both media and themes folders are writable.

I'm continuing have have this problem installing themes.
Can you explain your steps?

I have selected "no" for enable FTP in the Global Config section.
Is there something else I need to do to temporarily disabled the joomla ftp layer?

thank u!

No thats all I did. You should be aware that if you have a failed installation once then some files may have been installed and they will prevent a future install. If you use ftp and look in the /components/com_jcalpro/themes folder you should see the installed themes. If you "failed" to install themettt and there is a themettt you should delete th themettt folder before trying again
