The default width for the mini-calendar is 135px.  The width can be adjusted in the theme's style.css in the mini-calendar classes (Spartan theme line 695).  In my case, I added "width:170px;" to "extcal_minical .extcal_navbar".

I found I could add width:173px; to #extcal_minical TABLE.extcal_weekdays in the themes style.css as well.

Hope this helps.

On my installation it stayed aligned properly.  I suspect something else got changed in your style.css.  When I run into odd problems like this I use the Firebug plug-in for Firefox which helps me pinpoint where the problem is coming from.  At the very least, it will point you in the right direction.

I hope this helps.
