I've used sh404sef since it was handled by Yannick and it has gotten much better. The $35 will help you make more money just by having your URL convention for SEO friendly. I use and highly recommend sh404sef. - jondiego82

@Bugsbane: The changelog shows what we've done so far. Unfortunately, Joomla 1.5.15 introduced some serious issues with pagination that we are working on right now. - V-man

sh404SEF does work with Virtuemart.
The keywords (Google ignores these), description and title are all set up along with a search engine friendly URL. All this works and works within about 10 minutes following installation
The search engines need to see friendly URL's, titles that are relevant, meta description that is relevant, key headings near the top of the HTML (not the screen) and find bold and italicized terms that you want to be ranked on in the text - PeterHolroyd

Speaking as someone who *did* give Yannick more than $35 when this component was free... I really don't care about the $35. I do care thatif I'm paying, and the benefit of that is no longer shared with *everyone* as it once was that the value lost is provided somewhere else. Potentially this is supposed to be in the form of faster development and bug fixing. That's fine. Just please show us what's been fixed and what's improved so we can see that the money really is being put to good use making sh404sef better. If you do this (which is good marketing, anyway) I'll happily buy. If you can't, why should anyone even download it, let alone pay for the privilege?

I'm really hoping this will be a great move for sh404sef although I am disappointed. The truth is bourne out by the facts, namely how development has continued. If I were anything digital, I would be getting a fix for pagination as fast as humanly possible to demonstrate the point. Personally, I just want to see the bugs fixed. You've had the code for over three months now. When will we hear a progress update on this? - Bugsbane

I'm a great believer in that you get what you pay for in this world so this has to be fantastic news.
SEO is a Must have requirement for most installations and needs to be totally compatible with the major addons
I have been fighting poor quality code for months on Joomla 1.5 before purchasing and downloading sh404SEF. I installed, tweaked and performed my smoke tests within 45 minutes and everything works splendidly
Initially it didn't work in non .htaccess mode so I changed to .htaccess use and bingo - everything is sweet

I think the move to bring Yannick in house and make SEO fundamenal to your product range is a really cute move as you will soon be the only realistic destination for solutions that work and work well.
I personally am more than happy to pay $35 for a professional product that works immediately and saves me weeks of lost time struggling against incompetency - PeterHolroyd
