Hi:

Am running:-
  • JCal = 1.6.176 beta
  • JCal Theme = Default
  • Joomla = 1.5RC3
  • PHP version = 5.2.5
  • MySQL version = 5.0.45-community
  • Default Language = English (GB)

I'm adding recurring Monthly events (eg 2nd Monday each month with No End Date) to the calendar, but there are a number of problems:-
  • While they show up correctly in the calendar, the [Repeat Event:] field on Calendar incorrectly shows "Repeat every 0 Week(s)".
  • These events do not show up in the published [mod_jcalclient_latest] v1.6.179 module.
  • When you edit this event, the [Repeat Method] Radio button is incorrectly shown as [Don't repeat this event].

Yes, this is a known issue. Will resolve in the next release (or thr release after that).

for me recurring events do not even show in the calender. At least not for the original event.

explanation:
my original event is 2008-02-22 and I want to have recurring events every four weeks.

on the front end the recurring events will show up, but the event on 2008-02-22 will not.

is this known as well?

At this rate how long will it be before 1.6 is a stable release?  Huh

Looking in to this on my own, it seems part of the problem is caused by the Event Date Duration.

It also seems the "Repeat Until" information does not get passed into the database in the "recur_until" field.  No matter what you put here, it remains as 0000-00-00 in the database.

With Recurring Events, when you put information in the Duration, the calendar is using THAT as the end_date rather than the "Repeat Until" info from the "recur_until" field, even if you manually add a date in the "recur_until" field.

I found this by checking the database information and manually setting the end_date field to 12 years from now.  When I now view the event in "Manage Events, the Event Date Duration has changed from "3 hours, 30 min" to "4389 Days, 3 hours, 30 min."  It did not matter if I put information in the "recur_until" field.
